Security Options

Our window systems can be equipped with certified security fittings and hardware to meet specific project and regulatory requirements.
Available solutions include safety restrictors, anti-burglary components, and reinforced locking points — ensuring reliable protection for commercial, institutional, and residential applications.

Safety Glass

Tempered glass is thermally toughened to achieve higher mechanical strength and thermal resistance. In case of breakage, it disintegrates into small, blunt fragments, significantly reducing injury risk.

Laminated glass consists of two or more glass sheets bonded with a durable transparent interlayer (usually PVB or EVA). This structure enhances impact resistance and prevents shattering.

The performance of laminated glass depends on:
– glass thickness
– interlayer type and thickness
– number of bonded layers

In addition to safety, laminated glass offers improved acoustic insulation and UV protection, making it suitable for facades, doors, and large glazing units in commercial and residential applications.

Safety Features for Windows and Balcony Doors

To comply with project specifications and safety standards, our window and door systems can be equipped with certified protective accessories. These include restrictors, anti-fall mechanisms, and enhanced locking solutions that reduce operational risks while maintaining full system performance and durability.

Handle Rotation Blocker HOPPE KISI2

(included in the standard configuration)

A concealed plate with an integrated push-button mechanism is installed beneath the handle. Operation of the sash is possible only after pressing the button, providing basic protection against unintentional opening.

Key Advantages:
✔ Quick installation and easy retrofitting
✔ Preserves the original window aesthetics (no visible modifications)
✔ No additional keys or external components required
✔ Cost-effective and reliable safety solution

Note:
Effectiveness may be reduced if window users (e.g. children) are familiar with the push-button mechanism.

SIEGENIA Turn Lock Sash Opening Lock

An additional lockable element installed at the sash corner (on the handle side). It enables tilt ventilation while preventing full sash opening, providing additional security without affecting the window’s appearance.

Key Advantages:
✔ Preserves original window design (no visible alterations)
✔ Ensures secure ventilation position
✔ Simple and quick installation on-site
✔ Cost-efficient safety enhancement

Note:
– The key must be stored securely (out of children’s reach)
– There is a risk of misplacing or leaving the key in the lock

Window Handle with Lock

A secure, lockable window handle operated only with a key. Designed to enhance safety and prevent unauthorised opening, while maintaining a clean, aesthetic appearance.

Key Advantages:
✔ Modern, aesthetic design
✔ Reliable child-safety and access-control function
✔ Compatible with standard PVC and aluminium systems
✔ Cost-efficient and durable solution

Note:
– The key must be stored securely (out of children’s reach)
– There is a risk of misplacing or leaving the key in the handle

Detachable Handle

A removable handle that allows operation only when inserted into the dedicated slot. When removed, the sash remains securely locked, ensuring controlled access and preventing unintended window operation.

Key Advantages:
✔ Minimalist, ergonomic design
✔ Restricts window operation for enhanced safety
✔ Suitable for residential, educational, and healthcare applications
✔ Cost-effective safety solution

Note:
– Handle must be stored safely when not in use

Hoppe Secustik handles

Hoppe Secustik window handles feature an integrated locking mechanism that prevents unauthorized manipulation from the outside.

The system is based on a patented coupling element acting as a mechanical diode — it enables smooth handle operation from the inside while blocking any external attempts to move the hardware.

During operation, a distinctive clicking sound confirms that the internal security mechanism is functioning correctly, providing an additional layer of protection and quality assurance.

Fittings

AVEPLAST offers two types of fittings engineered to enhance operational security:

  • Enhanced Security Fittings – Equipped with two “mushroom” locking points per sash, these fittings provide effective protection against forced opening from the outside. Suitable for ground-floor applications and private residential buildings.

  • Anti-Burglary Fittings – The most advanced option for break-in prevention. Available in multiple security classes, tailored to specific project requirements. For optimal performance, we recommend combining with laminated or anti-burglary glazing.

Burglar-Resistant Glass

For maximum security performance, AVEPLAST recommends laminated burglar-resistant glass, especially when combined with enhanced safety or anti-burglary fittings.

Construction:
Laminated glass is composed of multiple glass layers bonded with a high-strength interlayer film. In the event of breakage, the film retains the fragments, preventing splintering and ensuring pane integrity.

Performance:

  • Provides high resistance to forced-entry attempts.

  • Maintains structural integrity under impact, including vandalism, storms, and mechanical force.

  • Extends the time required for intrusion, effectively deterring unauthorized access.

  • Available in several security classes, up to bullet-resistant specifications.
